for everyone

I won't normally do a political blog, but I was a little angry at something I saw today when I watched some tv. PBS....now isn't that supposed to be aimed at everyone. I have increasingly noticed how liberal they are.

Today, I just happened to be channel surfing as I ate my sandwich for lunch. I came across the program NOW hosted by David Brancaccio who was interviewing one of the first prisoners of Guatanamo Bay.. Mozaam Begg lives in England and has written a book about his experience there. He is very angry with our government. The host asks him if he hated America. He said "No, I hate the administration." Anyway, the little bit I could stand to listen to made me very upset that our public dollars are producing this kind of stuff, (why interview this person?) So I changed channels and after awhile went back to the show , and saw the credits going through. It was listing the foundations that supported this show , and I thought to myself ....Self , let's play detective.

I wrote down two foundation names, The Nathan Cummings Foundation, and William B. Weiner, Jr. Foundation and did my Google thing. Wonder of all wonders , I came up with this great site and it has amazing information on it, the money trail. This site is a worthwhile site as it shows where these "foundations" monies are going. It might be a useful tool during this next year and especially election year. I think we need to all be on our toes, and watch out for these shows who use our monies to produce shows such as this one.

How is it that government money goes to PBS when it 80% (just a guesstimate) caters to the liberal side of the coin. Same as the Public Radio stations with all their liberal voices. Help me , if you can, understand this.... I'm hoping there are some foundations that are on the up and up, I haven't looked the site over completely yet, it will take awhile because of all the information listed. Oh, yes, you can also follow your favorite celebrities and see which foundations they support. I happened to look at the one and only Bill Maher. Here are some quotes by Maher:

"If ten people in America died of mad cow disease, in the long run it would save probably millions of lives. Because people would stop eating meat. That’s not a catty thing to say, to say -- in the long run this is what I hope."
— Upon accepting the "Celebrity Animal Advocate of the Year award" at the "Animal Rights 2003" convention,

"To those people who say, `My father is alive because of animal experimentation,’ I say `Yeah, well, good for you. This dog died so your father could live.’ Sorry, but I am just not behind that kind of trade off."
— US magazine, Feb 1999

How is that these people are so concerned with animals, but don't see anything wrong with abortion? I love animals too, but I believe in the sanctity of human life.

Anyway, here's the website. Check it out for yourself. Bookmark it and go there often. . http://www.activistcash.com

This will probably be the one and only "politcal" type blog I do. I'm not that good with words and would rather do more uplifting blogs, but I needed to vent so if you've read this....I'm feeling a little bit better now. :)
